Wendy is an Olympian, a multi-time USA National Team coach, and nationally recognized for her coaching excellence. While she was featured on ABC’s Splash, her reputation is rooted in decades of proven results
We teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced diving with a focus on fundamental skills. Our club atmosphere supports each diver's journey—whether they're new to the sport or preparing for top-tier competition.
Wendy has produced over 50 USA Junior Zone and National Team qualifiers as well as High School State and USA National Champions. She has earned 7 consecutive National Team titles
FACILITIES
The facilities at Texas A&M University are among the top 5 in the country.
We operate out of the Texas A&M University Natatorium, 187 Corrington Dr. College Station, TX 77843, is an Olympic class aquatic center with a separate Diving well. The well is 17 feet deep with two 1 meter and two 3 meter springboards with 1, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 meter platforms. We have a a state of the art sparger system (compressed air that softens imperfect water landings used in learning new dives), an on deck hot tub and 6 hot water showers located behind each diving station.
We have a Diving specific dryland training gym accessible from the pool deck with 2 dry diving boards into pit mats, 3 dry diving boards into the largest Diving foam pit in the country, in-ground trampoline with spotting rig, 4 sets of wall bars, large spring floor, ample flip mat stations and a platform station into the foam pit. We offer air conditioned stadium seating for spectators, a full service restaurant and lobby with television and access to all TAMU Student Recreation Center sports facilities for $10 per day.
Our Cypress Fairbanks ISD Natatorium, 12550 Windfern Rd. Houston,TX 77064 is a high school pool with 2 1M and 1 3M springboards, large deck space with tumbling mats, hot showers on deck with ample air conditioned bleacher seats for viewing practices.
AAU REGISTRATION (mandatory)
JOIN AAU Go to AAUSports.org to register for an annual membership. Membership costs $20 annually and covers accident insurance and ability to enter various AAU sanction competitive events. A Club Code is required to gain membership and will be provided by Wendy before the first day of practice participation.
ANNUAL TEAM REGISTRATION
$200 registration fee to be paid by the 5th of the month upon joining the team. Fee to be paid via Venmo, cash or check. Venmo address @wendy-lerew
TEAM TUITION
To be paid by the 5th of each month. After the 15th a $25 late fee will be accessed. Team Texas is a 12 a year program. We are closed 2 weeks for Christmas and 2 weeks in August for facility maintenance. Tuition will not be prorated unless a doctor's note is provided. Team tuition scale upon request.
TEAM APPAREL
Competitive Team will purchase a team bathing suit and Adidas jacket. Style numbers and where to order info will be provided upon making the Competitive Team. Black shorts or leggings of your choice will be worn at all meet practices and competitions. Full Team apparel will be worn for every award ceremony.
Head Coach Wendy Lerew of Team Texas Diving was a Canadian National Team member from 1977-1989. She received many National and International titles during this time including a 1987 Silver Medal in Platform and Bronze Medal at the World Championships in 1989.
After retiring from competition she began coaching a Junior Diving program in Seattle, WA. After 6 years she moved to Florida where she began 3 Diving programs; a junior team called North Florida Diving, a country club team at Eagle Harbor, Orange Park, FL and a Division 1 collegiate/NCAA team at the Univ of North Florida, Jacksonville.
In 2000 she moved to be Co-Head Coach of Team Orlando Diving with her husband Jay Lerew. This lead to 8 consecutive USA Junior National team titles and several USA National Team Coaching positions through 2015.
Wendy and Jay moved to Texas A&M University in College Station as Jay accepted the Texas A&M Head Coaching position in 2015. Wendy started a Junior program out of Texas A&M. She has coached many USA National qualifiers, Team members and Olympic Trials finalists in the last 15 years.
Team Texas Diving continues to grow and produce National qualifiers and AAU National Team members out of the TAMU Student Rec Natatorium.
